Disney’s Fort Wilderness is a vast campground located on 750 acres. There are 800 campsites and over 400 cabins on the property. The campsites are relatively close to each other, but Disney has done an excellent job of using various types of landscaping to provide more privacy. The sites are all on level concrete, making setup quick and easy. Some areas are more shaded than others.

One of the most misunderstood pieces of camping equipment is the generator. Many campers choose to boondock when they are camping. Boondocking is camping without any water or electric hookups. Therefore, boondockers need an RV “generator” to provide electricity to their campers. Campers use two different types of generators: the inverter generator and the open frame generator. We would recommend that all campers use inverter generators.
Buying a used camper is an excellent way to save money by avoiding depreciation. RVs are like automobiles in that as soon as you drive your new camper off the lot, it is worth a fair bit less than it was new on the lot. For this reason, purchasing a used camper that has been maintained properly can be a sound investment decision.
