Welcome to Campers and Campfires ultimate gift guide. The number of people purchasing campers and enjoying the great outdoors has been steadily increasing. Chances are good that you have a friend or family member that enjoys camping. There is never a shortage of great gifts for the camper in your life.
Camping Gifts to make your trips more enjoyable
Thanks to companies like Starbucks, the coffee industry has changed drastically. As a result, how the consumer produces and drinks coffee has changed in the last few years. The need for the perfect cup of coffee has carried over to the world of camping. How can you produce that perfect cup of coffee or espresso at the campground? The Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Maker (Check it out on Amazon) will help enjoy a great cup of joe while enjoying nature.
We have found a headlamp (Check it out on Amazon) to be one of the handiest items that we have ever purchased for camping. We bought these headlamps for the kids last year for Christmas, but we use them all the time. Having the light on your head frees up both hands to work. We have used the lamps for everything from providing light when we arrive at the campground late to lighting our way back to the camper without tripping.
If you know someone that camps year-round, a heated hose (Check it out on Amazon) is a great gift. We love to camp during the winter. Several times the temperatures have dropped below freezing. A heated hose will ensure that your water does not freeze overnight.
An excellent camping chair always makes a lovely gift. We spend a great deal of time sitting with friends by the fire, and a comfortable chair is a must. There are a wide variety of styles available. We like zero gravity chairs (Check them out on Amazon) when we are camping. However, we have some friends who use more of a freestyle rocker (Check it out on Amazon), and these chairs are comfortable as well.
A gift that makes traveling a little safer is always a good idea. A tire monitoring system will do just that. Not only is a flat tire aggravating, but it can also do a tremendous amount of damage to the underside of your camper. A tire monitoring system can help prevent a dangerous blowout. The Tymate Tire Monitoring System for RVs (Check it out on Amazon) will monitor air pressure and tire temperature. It is essential when purchasing a tire monitoring system that you buy one made for an RV or camper. There are cheaper models made for cars and trucks, but they usually lose connection with tires that are on a camper or RV and will not be helpful in case of an emergency.
A portable air compressor (Check it out on Amazon) is an item that is nice to have handy at the campground. You can use a portable air compressor for your camper, truck, and bike tires. Several options are available depending upon your needs when purchasing an air compressor. Some will work on 12 volts, but the cords are generally not long enough, so we recommend getting one that works on 110 volts. If you are worried about access to an outlet, then a handheld air compressor (Check it out on Amazon) with a rechargeable battery is a good option.
Another gift that helps keep you safe is a surge protector. Electrical system in campers are fragile, and the smallest surge can create a great deal of damage. A surge protector can help prevent damage and ensure that the campground’s power is safe before you plug your camper into the power pole. There are two basic types of surge protectors available. The Progressive Industries Surge Protector (Check it out on Amazon) costs around $100 and has indicator lights that will inform you if there is a wiring problem at the pedestal.
The second type of surge protector contains an electrical management system that will shut down power if a low/high voltage problem is detected. It is specifically designed to protect your camper. Our favorite is manufactured by Progressive Industries (Check it out on Amazon).
Water pressure inside a camper is generally insufficient, which makes for a poor showering experience. The Oxygenics Showerhead (Check them out on Amazon) can solve many pressure issues and help provide a better showering experience. The showerhead improves pressure without increasing the amount of water, which is a win-win situation for campers. Although Oxygenics provides more pressure, it does not fill up your tank quicker. Another great feature of this showerhead is that you can easily cut the water off while you are soaping up, and then cut it back on while rinsing off. When you cut the showerhead off, there will be a slow drip so that there is not a substantial temperature swing when you turn the water back on.
If you enjoy sitting around the campfire, it can be frustrating to stay at a campground that does not have a firepit. We have a couple of solutions. The first is the Fireside Outdoor Pop-Up Firepit (Check them out on Amazon). It is portable and will provide you with a firepit no matter where you stay. The second option is a propane-powered firepit. Many people who do not want to mess with firewood use a propane firepit even when a traditional firepit is available.
Another accessory that we love at the campground is the Kindling Splitter (Check them out on Amazon). The Kindling Splitter makes it safe and simple to split wood right at the campground. Place the wood on the splitter and hit it with a mini sledgehammer, and the wood splits quickly and safely.
Camping during the summer means bugs. A Thermacell Mosquito Repeller (Check them out on Amazon) is a great way to keep your campsite free of these nuisance insects. Thermacells come in various sizes and designs. We personally use Thermacells and they work well and make camping more comfortable during the summer.
We love browsing the ETSY shops for fun and unique gift ideas. Etsy has lots of items to help you personalize your camping experience.
Personalized camping signs are always a fun gift, and there are many options. There are metal signs, wooden signs, and cloth camper flags that can all help personalize your campsite and make it feel like home.
We like these metal signs from RustyRoosterMetal (Check them out). The sign can be personalized by name as well as camper type.
These carved wooden signs from TheSophiasCreations (Check them out) are neat as well. They look great and can be customized for a name as well as camper type.
We have always loved the simple camper flag. Campsiteflags (Check them out) has a large variety of flags. You are sure to find one that fits your needs.
Personalized Camping Mugs
Personalized camping mugs serve two great purposes. There is the practical use of drinking coffee, but they also look great as a decoration in your camper.
Mugzarefun (Check them out) carries our favorite mugs. Most camping mugs have an outdoor theme, but many of these mugs have an actual camping theme with campers on the mugs rather than just an outdoor graphic.
StrictlyBusinessMugs (Check them out) also has some great funny camping mugs.
Camper Stove Covers
Personalized camper stove covers are an excellent way to provide some personalized décor to the inside of your camper. AugustSevenCrafts (Check them out) has a variety of stove covers available in different color combinations.
