Blue Water RV Resort
Blue Water RV Resort is located in Dayton, Tennessee. Dayton is about 45 minutes from Chattanooga. We have family in this area and have visited this park several times.

Amenities at Blue Water RV Resort
Blue Water RV Resort is also a marina with a private boat ramp. Boat slips are available where you can park your boat or jet ski. If you do not have a boat of your own, they rent Pontoon boats so you can enjoy a beautiful day on the lake. Live bait is available inside the clubhouse, and a stocked catch-and-release pond. There is a swimming pool for resort guests as well.

Favorite Sites at Blue Water RV Resort
Sites 1-12 are all located on the water. Our favorite is site 10, which has a beautiful lake view and is a little further away from the boat slips. We stayed in site 1, and did not care for that site. It was too close to the general store, so you had a lot of foot traffic, and the sideyard was nonexistent.

Description of Blue Water RV Resort
Blue Water RV Resort is located on Lake Chickamauga, and many of the sites are located directly on the water. There are 40 full hookup sites on level concrete pads, making it quick and easy to set up your camper. In addition, they have a lodge and a couple of cabins. We have not been in the cabins, but you can get a 360-degree view of their interior on the website, and they look nice.

Things To Do Near Blue Water RV Resort
Dayton, Tennessee, is located in western Tennessee and is affectionately known as Monkeytown because it is where the Scopes Monkey Trial occurred (Read our article about things to do in Dayton). You can visit the Rhea County Courthouse, where the trial occurred, and there is a museum in the courthouse with artifacts from the trial. Each year in July, there is a festival to celebrate the anniversary of the trial with live music and a trial reenactment in the original courtroom. The movie Inherit the Wind is based on this trial and is a must-watch if you have not seen it (Check it out on Amazon).

If you love to fish, this is the area to visit. Dayton is known for its bass fishing and is considered by many as the Bass Capital due to the number of bass in the area’s rivers and lakes. You can fish at the campground or take a boat and go exploring. Blue Water RV Resort is located on Lake Chickamauga, which is consistently ranked in the top ten for bass fishing by Bassmaster Magazine.
The Cherokee Removal Memorial Park at Blythe Ferry is a short drive from the campground. This park is located along the trail of tears. When the Cherokee were removed from the area, they had to be ferried across the river at Blythe Ferry. The park is a memorial for those forced to leave their land.

A fun side trip is the Mayfield Dairy, located about 30 miles away in Athens, Tennessee. You can tour the dairy and see how milk and ice cream are processed, and you even get a free scoop of ice cream after the tour. This is the perfect way to cool off on a hot day.
Blue Water RV Resort is only 45 minutes from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chattanooga is home to many family activities, such as Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, Rock City, and the Tennessee Aquarium.
Blue Water is the perfect campground if you are vacationing or need solitude and peace. We hope you love it as much as we do!
